How to backflush (commercial machines)
You need: a blind/blank filter basket (backflush basket).
1) Insert blind basket in portafilter and add up to 1/2 tsp (≈ 3g) Cafiza.
2) Lock in portafilter. Run brew cycle for 10 seconds, stop for 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times.
3) Remove and rinse portafilter under hot water from the group.
4) Reinsert portafilter (no cleaner) and repeat the 10s on / 10s off cycle 5 times to rinse.
5) Pull and discard one test shot to ensure no cleaner remains.
Soaking portafilters, baskets & metal filters
1) Mix 1 tsp (≈ 6g) Cafiza per 32 oz / 1L of hot water.
2) Soak metal parts for 30 minutes (avoid soaking parts with aluminum).
3) Rinse thoroughly with clean hot water and reassemble.
Cleaning coffee brewers (drip brewers)
1) Empty coffee from equipment.
2) Add 1/2 tsp (≈ 3g) Cafiza per 64 oz / 2L of brewer capacity directly into the brew basket.
3) Run a full brew cycle into each vessel and let sit for 30 minutes.
4) Empty and rinse all parts thoroughly with clean hot water.
